Artist Jim Krahn is a self-taught painter whose Midwestern roots have instilled in him a love of natural surroundings that is evident in his work. The pins on his American map of former residences include places as various as the Eastern Shore of Maryland, small-town South Carolina, New Orleans, Chicago, the Los Angeles area, and nearly every exit on I-43.
Jim Started painting quite a few years ago when living in Easton, Maryland, the home of one of the most popular PleinAir festivals in the U.S. As he was continually exposed to some of the most talented artists anywhere he began to paint, study and learn from so many talented painters. This experience was just the beginning of his exciting journey into the world of PleinAir and Studio painting.
Jim is honored to have his work in private collections in Beirut, Lebanon as well as;
Maryland, Washington, New York, Hawaii, North and South Carolina, California, Louisiana, and Wisconsin.
No greater honor than for someone to purchase a painting from an artist and have it hanging in their home to share with family and friends!
Jim continues to paint, primarily in oils, and experiments with cold wax, and other mediums, while exploring painting on surfaces from traditional canvases as well as panel, wood, and aluminum.
Every day and every painting is a new discovery – an opportunity to create!!
